  1. Great Harvest Bread Co Now Offers Sandwiches in Geneva

May 3, 2011 by Geneva Great Harvest

The Geneva Great Harvest Bread Company introduced a new line of made-to-order sandwiches served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at their location 13 N. Third Street.

Premium Great Harvest bread is combined with select fresh ingredients to make several varieties of sandwiches. The menu includes all classic sandwiches – like ham and cheese, smokehouse turkey, and old-fashioned roast beef – and Great Harvest signature cold sandwiches, like the 3rd Street Cobb, Montana Round Roast Beef, Sorry Charlie Tuna Salad, Viking Chicken Salad, and the Harvest Veggie.

“Great Harvest is all about making the best-tasting products from scratch every day in a fun-loving atmosphere,” said owner Kim Kane. “We are excited to offer these delicious sandwiches featuring our signature breads. Our sandwich selection is perfect for our health-conscious customers and anyone who loves a hearty, made-to-order sandwich.”

The new sandwiches are added to a menu of freshly baked whole grain breads.  Customers watch the baking process in action as bakers mill the wheat, knead the dough, and handcraft each loaf. Great Harvest bakeries grind premium Montana wheat berries into whole-wheat flour daily and blend it with ingredients such as honey, purified water, herbs and more to ensure products taste incredible and retain important nutrients. Great Harvest also offers fresh coffee and baked items like scones, muffins and cinnamon rolls in the morning, and sweets including fresh cookies, savannah bars and batter breads all day.

Kane encourage locals and visitors to stop in for a free slice of items hot-out-of-the oven, and to try the new sandwiches. “Our bakery is rooted in generosity and we thoroughly enjoy sharing our daily creations.”

Scratch-made Seasonal Breads, Rolls and Sweets Available at Great Harvest

The smell of Great Harvest’s legendary holiday products are filling the air, and busy moms and working professionals are filling the lobby to pre-order scratch-made whole-grain herb breads, rolls and seasonal desserts to adorn their Thanksgiving table and impress guests.

“We love this time of year because we’re providing beloved homemade products to people who simply do not have time to bake,” said Great Harvest Bakery owner Marty Kane. “We feel good knowing that we’re helping customers create a wonderful meal and relieving the stress and mess that comes with preparing everything on their own.”

The seasonal breads and sweets available for Thanksgiving this year include Stuffing bread, Cranberry Orange bread, and hand-rolled Wheat, White and Virginia Rolls.

Free recipe cards for old-fashioned white bread stuffing and for apple sausage stuffing are available at the bakery. The former Butterball Turkey hotline lady and popular cookbook author Renee Ferguson created these recipes using Great Harvest’s Oregon Herb bread. Ferguson’s entire cookbook is available at www.turkeytools.com, where you’ll also find free menu ideas. In addition, Great Harvest has its own stuffing recipe featuring its Stuffing Bread.

“We’ve got customers covered for the day after Thanksgiving, too. Turkey sandwiches made with our Cranberry Orange Bread is out-of-this-world delicious,” said Kane. “We will bake up enough of all of our specialty items right up until the day before Thanksgiving. This year we’re recommending pre-orders so everyone gets what they love. We’ll add a midnight baking shift if we need to.”

The Geneva Great Harvest Bakery, located at 13 N Third St., is known for its handcrafted breads made daily with freshly ground whole wheat from the high plains of Montana. Great Harvest purchases its whole wheat from family owned farms. The neighborhood bakery creates an array of legendary fresh baked breads and sweets, as well as specialty items during holidays. Great Harvest mills its whole wheat at the store daily. The fresh flour is used within two days to produce whole wheat breads rich in taste and nutrients.

  5. What a great Day

November 12, 2010 by Geneva Great Harvest

Mother Nature sure is taking pity on the Midwest today, especially the Chicagoland area.  It’s nice to see so many people out and about in downtown Geneva.  We just donated lots of cookies to the Mother’s Club of Geneva’s annual Craft Show taking place this weekend at the Highschool.

Make sure to stop in Great Harvest either before or after the craft show.
